Ingredients
- A saba (mackerel) fillet
- A pinch of salt
- 5cm leek
- 2 tablespoons ponzu
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 5cm radish
Instructions
- Sprinkle a pinch of salt on mackerel fillet and let it sit for 10 minutes. Pat dry with paper towel.
- Grill the mackerel in a pan or a grill oven until cooked. If you are using a pan, cover the pan with the lid so that it cooks faster.
- Finely chop the leek, add ponzu and sugar, cover loosely and microwave on medium high for a minute.
- Serve the mackerel with grated radish and the microwaved sauce on top.
Notes
- If you don’t have ponzu, you can make homemade ponzu from scratch! Mix 1 tablespoon vinegar, 1.5 tablespoon of soy sauce and 0.5 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice.
